A new form of congenital muscular dystrophy has been discovered which is caused by mutations in a previously un-linked gene.

Tokyo Medical and Dental University research team demonstrated that osteocytes have a crucial role in orthodontic tooth movement as the major source of receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL), a protein crucial to bone remodeling.
