Researchers at St. Michael's Hospital have found that people who speak more than one language have twice as much brain damage as unilingual people before they exhibit symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. It's the first physical evidence that bilingualism delays the onset of the disease.
But the Senate leader warns that Congress shouldn't focus on "fringe" issues. Meanwhile, political analysts say the Republican push to limit abortions scores points with the party's conservative base, but could widen its "gender gap" in the 2014 elections.
The analysis by researchers from Spain and Peru reveals that high altitude confers significant protection from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection and death – independent of the distance from the pandemic epicenter, population density, or poverty levels. The study is currently available on the medRxiv preprint server.
