People with blue eyes might have a greater chance of becoming alcoholics, according to a unique new study by genetic researchers at the University of Vermont.
A large clinical trial looking at the cancer preventive actions of aspirin is underway. The seven year study will include six regional centers from Victoria including Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Warrnambool, Traralgon and Shepparton. The ASPirin for Reducing Events in the Elderly (ASPREE) study will involve about 19,000 participants from Australia and the United States.
The National Comprehensive Cancer Network has published the 20th annual editions of the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines) for Colon and Rectal Cancers, two of the eight original NCCN Guidelines published in November 1996.
Recent findings in mice suggest that blocking the production of small molecules produced in the body, known as epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs), may represent a novel strategy for treating cancer by eliminating the blood vessels that feed cancer tumors.
