The most common heart medications may get an assist from nitric oxide circulating in the body, according to a new study out of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Calypso Medical Technologies, Inc., a developer of non-ionizing real-time localization technology used for the precise tracking of tumor targets, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America, a national network of hospitals providing a comprehensive, fully integrative approach to cancer treatment, announced today that with the installation of the Calypso System at the CTCA at Southwestern Regional Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla., Calypso's real-time tumor tracking technology is now available at all CTCA centers nationwide.
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health, has awarded $10 million in first-year funding to establish a clinical research network called Childhood Asthma in Urban Settings (CAUSE).
Cancer is growing by the day worldwide and the cancer cells still manage to evade both the body's defenses and medical intervention. Now an explanation to the phenomenon is provided by an Arizona State University scientist.
Researchers at the University of Birmingham, UK, led by Dr. Ben Scheven, Dr. Wendy Leadbeater and Ben Mead have discovered that stem cells isolated from the teeth, termed dental pulp stem cells (DPSC), can protect retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) from death following injury and promote regeneration of their axons along the optic nerve.
