Acknowledging health as a universal human right could galvanize people and organizations to make major improvements in health worldwide, according to new research from faculty at Binghamton University, State University of New York.
Younger siblings of children with autism spectrum disorders do not perform as well on tests of social and communication development compared with siblings of children without developmental problems at ages as young as 12 months, according to a report in the April issue of Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, a theme issue on autism spectrum disorders.

Two federal environmental standards regulating lead hazards in homes and child care facilities have different maximum thresholds, a discrepancy putting more than 35,000 kids in the United States at increased risk of lead poisoning.
Faces don't lie when it comes to showing signs of aging. Yet gravity alone is not the sole determinant of the aging face. Studies have demonstrated that volume loss of soft tissue and bone is at least equally important to facial aging. The loss of volume in the face over time can cause deep lines, sunken areas around the eyes, temples, nose and jowls.
