It seems you can't go anywhere these days without hearing "the flu this" or "the flu that." Unfortunately, this season's influenza outbreak is one of the worst in years. And it's not just the flu virus that's causing problems; there are also many myths about the flu that are keeping people from doing more to prevent it.
The peer groups teenage girls identify with determine how they decide to control their own figure. So reports a new study by Dr. Eleanor Mackey from the Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC, and her colleague Dr. Annette La Greca from the University of Miami.
For the eleventh straight year, NewYork-Presbyterian has more physicians listed in New York Magazine's "Best Doctors" survey than any other hospital. The magazine lists 191 NewYork-Presbyterian physicians representing 17 percent of the 1,144 New York City–area doctors listed.
A higher neighborhood advantage, or socioeconomic status, of where a person lives contributes to a lower risk of having a stroke no matter the person's race, according to findings published in the Oct. 14 online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
