The University of California, San Diego School of Medicine has received a $5.3 million grant from the National Cancer Institute to conduct and lead a first-of-its-kind, four-year clinical trial to show the effects of weight loss and increased physical activity on quality of life and on co-existing medical conditions in overweight breast cancer survivors.
The Georgia State University Research Foundation has entered into a research collaboration agreement with GeoVax Labs, Inc., a Georgia-based biotechnology company developing human vaccines, to advance development of a therapeutic vaccine for treatment of chronic Hepatitis B infections.
Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Reata) and Kyowa Hakko Kirin Co., Ltd. (Kyowa Hakko Kirin) announced today that they have entered into a licensing agreement that provides Kyowa Hakko Kirin with the exclusive rights to develop and commercialize Reata's lead compound, bardoxolone methyl (bardoxolone), in Japan and other selected Asian markets.
