COPD: Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, the first journal dedicated to publishing a range of research on the impact of COPD, has become the official journal of the COPD Foundation.
As part of the Genome Canada Large-Scale Applied Research Project Competition, which as a whole awarded over $58 million to 16 projects across the country, the researchers in Ontario will be focusing on biomonitoring, understanding gene function with the aim of identifying genes or proteins for drug targets, and the creation of synthetic antibodies to target cancers and other diseases.
Charles River Laboratories International, Inc. today reported its results for the second quarter of 2010. For the quarter, net sales were $292.1 million, a decline of 5.2% from $308.2 million in the second quarter of 2009. Foreign currency translation reduced the sales growth rate by 0.1%. A modest sales increase in the Research Models and Services segment was offset by lower sales for the Preclinical Services segment.
The world is poised to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030 – provided it can accelerate the pace of progress achieved globally over the past 15 years, according to a new World Health Organization (WHO) report.
