Millions of Americans reach for their cough drops or syrup at the first sign of a cough. However, scientists are unsure if and how these popular remedies work. Now, new findings from the Monell Center suggest that sucrose and menthol, ingredients commonly regarded as flavorings in these preparations, each act independently to reduce coughing.
All humans are synchronised to the rhythmic light-dark changes that occur on a daily basis. Rhythms in physiological and biochemical processes and behavioural patterns persist in the absence of all external 24-hour signals from the physical environment, with a period that is close to 24 hours
How can successful companies use lifelong learning to have a competitive advantage in their enterprises? This is one of the questions being addressed by the new LLLight'in'Europe project, which wants to analyse the importance of lifelong learning activities to ensure better person to job fits.
