Researchers have developed a new type of food that improves gut bacteria in malnourished children and kick-starts growth.
Hewlett-Packard on Monday announced it will provide "smartphones and cloud computing technology to nonprofit group Positive Innovation for the Next Generation (PING)" to help improve health monitoring and malaria detection in Botswana, Venture Beat reports.
A newer, less invasive method of heart valve replacement shows promise and may be appropriate for patients who cannot tolerate traditional open heart surgery, but research is needed to understand its potential risks and benefits, according to a new study funded by HHS' Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
A multi-institutional, Phase II study led by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center showed that pairing standard chemotherapy azacitidine (AZA) with a drug called enasidenib (ENA) measurably boosts complete remission in patients newly diagnosed with a specific form of acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
