A report produced today by Primary Care National Director, Dr David Colin-Thome, shows that NHS primary care, the local healthcare people access most frequently, is continuing to expand and provide a wider range of services to patients.
Janssen Sciences Ireland UC, one of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, today announced that clinical data for simeprevir, its NS3/4A protease inhibitor for the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, will be presented at The International Liver Congress 2015 of the European Association for the Study of the Liver taking place in Vienna from April 22-26.
The relevance of positron emission tomography (PET) alone or in combination with computed tomography (CT) in patients with malignant melanoma cannot be currently assessed due to a lack of meaningful studies. This is the result of a final report published by the German Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWiG) on 20 July 2011.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today recommended more conservative dosing guidelines for Erythropoiesis-Stimulating Agents (ESAs) when used to treat anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) because of the increased risks of cardiovascular events such as stroke, thrombosis, and death.
