An action research project in support of the African response to the Covid-19 epidemic (ARIACOV) has just been funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) as part of the "Covid-19 - Health in Common" initiative.
The National Institutes of Health's (NIH) National Center for Advancing Translational Science (NCATS) - a new plan to help speed drug development by making abandoned experimental drugs available to researchers who can look for alternative uses - "is an indication that the Obama administration and the medical research enterprise are thinking out of the box," Michael Manganiello, a partner at HCM Strategists, writes in a Huffington Post "Politics Blog" opinion piece.
In a study to determine the diagnostic value of molecular imaging in nodal staging of patients with thyroid cancer, researchers were able for the first time to accurately distinguish between cancerous cells in regional lymph nodes and normal residual thyroid tissue directly after surgery.
3SBio Inc., a leading China-based biotechnology company focused on researching, developing, manufacturing and marketing biopharmaceutical products, today announced that it has acquired the ex-China global rights to Apexigen's anti-TNF monoclonal antibody ("mAb") technology. 3SBio previously acquired the China rights from Apexigen in 2006.
