A new assessment tool published today in the Journal of Hospital Medicine can help hospital medicine groups across the country improve their patient care and make their operations more effective.

Rate of chronic health conditions among children in the U.S. increased from 12.8% to 26.6%

The rate of chronic health conditions among children in the U.S. increased from 12.8 percent in 1994 to 26.6 percent in 2006, for conditions such as obesity, asthma and behavior/learning problems, according to a study in the February 17 issue of JAMA.

Healthcare Trust of America completes 13 acquisitions

Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. ("HTA"), a self-managed, non-traded, real estate investment trust, announced that in 2009, HTA completed 13 acquisitions comprised of 54 medical office buildings totaling 2,257,634 square feet and one real estate-related asset.
