Boehringer Ingelheim, a research-based, global pharmaceutical company, today announced a multi-year agreement with Brigham and Women's Hospital, an internationally recognized teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School known for its excellence in patient care, medical research and training of outstanding young health professionals.
Alejandro Fuertes-Saiz, fourth-year Psychiatry intern at the Hospital Provincial de Castellón and doctoral candidate at the CEU Cardenal Herrera (CEU UCH) University of Valencia, along with his thesis directors, Gonzalo Haro and Ana Benito, have just published in journal Brain Science the final results of three year-long research where they have studied the effects of cocaine on patients diagnosed with schizophrenia or antisocial personality disorder.
Is the heat still bearable, or should I take my hand off the hotplate? Before the brain can react appropriately to pain, it must evaluate and integrate sensory, cognitive and emotional factors that modulate the perception and processing of the sensation itself.
A 30-minute brain injury education program taught in the hospital may increase children's use of bicycle helmets, Georgia Health Sciences University researchers report.
The recent global swine flu outbreak has underscored the critical need for good surveillance and rapid access to epidemiological data. The US military, starting with early monitoring efforts in the 1970s, has developed a broad-based influenza monitoring system.
