World Congress of Cardiology Report - Although elderly AF patients are at much higher risk for stroke, they are undertreated for stroke prophylaxis compared to younger patients.
SI-BONE, Inc., a medical device company that pioneered the use of the iFuse Implant System, a minimally invasive surgical (MIS) device indicated for fusion for certain disorders of the sacroiliac (SI) joint, announced the publication of one-year results from two separate prospective multicenter clinical trials as well as the publication of a systematic review of 18 MIS SI joint fusion studies.
Results presented today at The International Liver Congress 2015 show that the sofosbuvir (SOF)/daclatasvir (DCV) treatment combination is effective amongst hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype-1 mono-infected patients. These results are significant because whilst other combinations have been widely reported on, there have been few data until now regarding the use of SOF/DCV combination in real world situations.
Dr. Jennifer Caudle is an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Over the years in her busy medical practice, she's heard just about every possible excuse or misconception about the annual flu vaccine.
The value of the biosimilars market segment will account for 2.6% of the biological market by 2016, forecasts a new report from URCH Publishing. However, this forecast assumes biosimilars become permitted under U.S. law by 2012, notes the market strategy report "Biosimilars: A Growing Market - An overview of developments, companies & commercial opportunities".
