A study conducted by researchers in Germany has found that the B.1.617 variant of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) that has emerged in India entered certain types of lung and intestine cells with slightly increased efficiency compared with the original wild-type strain.
A team of scientists from the United States has recently examined the trajectory of early immune biomarkers in response to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. They have identified specific plasma proteins that can accurately predict the clinical and virological outcomes in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients. The study is currently available on the medRxiv* preprint server.
A team of scientists from the Cancer Science Institute of Singapore at the National University of Singapore and National University Cancer Institute Singapore, and their collaborators from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, UCLA School of Medicine, demonstrated that a number of novel genetic defects are able to induce oesophageal cancer.
ViroXis Corporation today announced that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted approval for the Company's investigational new drug (IND) application and planned clinical development of a drug substance derived from East Indian Sandalwood oil (EISO) for the topical treatment of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), common warts of the skin.
