Attempts to obliterate the neovascular lesions often led to acute central visual loss and often, even with modest success, the lesions recurred with even more vision loss.
Dr. Spencer Greene wants to make sure the standard treatment for copperhead snake bites, the most common venomous snake in greater Houston and southeast Texas, works, and if it doesn't, he wants to stop its use.
New research, from scientists at Imperial College London, unravels how so-called bacterial persister cells manipulate our immune cells, potentially opening new avenues to finding ways of clearing these bacterial cells from the body, and stopping recurrence of the bacterial infection.
Researchers at the Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP) developed a biomaterial with the ability to serve as a support for regenerating bone tissue, which is biodegradable and can be printed in 3D with controlled porosity.
