Trimeris, Inc., or the "Company," today announced financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2010, reporting net income of $1.3 million, or $0.06 per share, which was unchanged from the quarter ended June 30, 2009. Comparisons of net income between the quarters ended June 30, 2010 and June 30, 2009 are affected by a one-time adjustment in the second quarter of 2009 that increased operating expenses for that period by $496,000.

High living standards and the life style connected to them seem to promote the development of autoimmune diseases and allergic symptoms. This has lead to the assumption that the immune system begins to overreact to the organism's own structures or to exogenous non-infectious proteins, i.e. allergens, when it does not have to work hard enough to protect the individual from infections.
Patients who undergo repeated anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions, or repeat revision surgery, are unlikely to return to prior activity levels despite showing basic functional improvement according to research being presented at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine's (AOSSM) Annual Meeting today.
