Mount Sinai School of Medicine received a contract for almost $16.5 million from The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLBI) through the Program of Excellence in Nanotechnology (PEN). The contract is one of four issued nationally to develop multidisciplinary research Centers with the goal of developing nanotechnology tools for diagnosing and treating heart, lung and blood diseases.
Jordan Hospital is pleased to announce that it has received approval from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for the opening of its new, state-of-the-art Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center located on the hospital campus in Plymouth, Mass. The Wound Center features the only hospital-based hyperbaric treatment chamber in the greater Plymouth and Cape Cod region. The new Wound Center provides individuals with chronic, non-healing wounds, a local option for wound care and hyperbaric therapy.
Nurses appear to be taking far better care of their patients than they are their financial futures, according to a survey released today by the Center for American Nurses and the Women's Institute for a Secure Retirement (WISER).
