A new study by Loughborough University has examined - for the first time - how receptionists interact with patients over the telephone.
Smoke from cigarettes produces 10 times more pollution than that of an average diesel exhaust, according to a controlled experment carried out in Italy. The experiment is reported in the current issue of Tobacco Control, an international peer review journal for health professionals and others in tobacco control.
I commend Speaker Pelosi, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Rangel, Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Waxman, Education and Labor Committee Chairman Miller, lead author Rep. John Dingell and their House colleagues for advancing legislation with the goal of connecting all Americans to coverage. House passage of this legislation is an important step towards reform and achieving the goal of covering the uninsured, an objective that has been a priority for our company from its inception.
Bacteria are very sneaky in their efforts to develop resistance to antibiotics. Some strains of bacteria package up the genetic instructions for how they defend themselves and cause disease, and pass this information on to neighbouring, naïve, bacteria - essentially gifting their colleagues with the defences they need to survive against our medical armoury of antibiotics.
Twenty-five percent of employers have little or no understanding of specialty pharmacy and 53 percent have only a moderate understanding of this challenging benefit according to a new survey released by the non-profit Midwest Business Group on Health (MBGH), one of the nation's leading business groups of private and public employers.
