Survey results suggest that chronic myeloid leukaemia patients using tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy have good adherence to treatment but might benefit from counselling regarding their illness.
A new study by researchers from Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City, Mo., found that rapid electronic review of children's heart images by specialists nearly 200 miles away allowed for earlier diagnosis and treatment of potentially serious pediatric heart problems. The study was presented at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition in San Francisco.
The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) welcomes an "intriguing" study, published today in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, featuring a completely novel approach for improving endothelial function in heart failure.
In a study prompted in part by suggestions from people with mental illness, Johns Hopkins researchers found that a history of Candida yeast infections was more common in a group of men with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder than in those without these disorders, and that women with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder who tested positive for Candida performed worse on a standard memory test than women with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder who had no evidence of past infection.
International Merchant Advisors, Inc. www.imaiinc.com announced today that the company has reached an agreement in principal to acquire its first operating business in the clinical medical marijuana space. IMAI has agreed to acquire Organic Science, Inc. for $15 million in the restricted common stock of IMAI.
