According to the results of a new study when it comes to the workplace, women are "germier" than men.
Thirty-five countries now face serious food shortages, including two dozen in Africa, according to a report released by the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO).
Heart and cancer doctors will get a smaller fee cut next year from Medicare, the U.S. government program for the elderly, than the Obama administration first sought in a move to shift money to family physicians," Bloomberg reports. Earlier this year, Medicare officials said they would cut 10 percent of payments for the two specialties. Now, they plan on making the reductions over four years, instead.
According to a new study male doctors are four times more likely to be disciplined for misconduct than female doctors. Most common reason for the discipline was sexual misconduct, accounting for 24 per cent of all cases say researchers. Unethical or illegal prescribing accounted for 21 per cent of misconduct cases, while 8 per cent involved death and 9 per cent involved physical harm to the patient. The study is published today in the Medical Journal of Australia.
