When hospitals group patient rooms into small clusters, nurses have more time for their patients. But the design of these 'bed clusters' is important.
Grow it, try it, and you just might like it is a motto many schools are embracing to encourage children to eat more fruits and vegetables. Through community-based kitchen garden programs, particularly those with dedicated cooking components, schools are successfully introducing students to healthier foods. In a new study released in the March/April 2013 issue of the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior, researchers found that growing and then cooking the foods that kids grew increased their willingness to try new foods.
Results of the Phase III RE-LY(R) (Randomized Evaluation of Long-Term Anticoagulant Therapy, Warfarin, Compared to Dabigatran) study will be presented at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress in Barcelona on Sunday, Aug. 30. The primary objective of RE-LY was to assess the safety and efficacy of the investigational oral direct thrombin inhibitor, dabigatran etexilate, against the current standard therapy, warfarin, for the prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).
Fans of the blockbuster movie "Iron Man 3" might remember the characters step inside the digital projection of a "big brain" and watch as groups of neurons are "lit up" along the brain's neural "map" in response to physical touch.
