A Binghamton University researcher has established a new framework to help determine whether individuals might be at risk for schizophrenia.
Although COVID-19 is primarily treated as a respiratory disease, patients often experience neurological problems, such as headaches, anxiety, depression and cognitive issues, which can persist long after other symptoms have resolved.
Multiple sclerosis is a disabling autoimmune disease in which nerve fibers are attacked by the patient's own immune system. Researchers at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet in Munich have identified a new mechanism that contributes to nerve fiber damage - and shown that this damage can be reversed.
As health authorities in China struggle to come to grips with an outbreak of the intestinal virus EV71 or Enterovirus 71, the Ministry of Health is urging local health officials to step up public health education.
