The BIOMARGIN (BIOMArkers of Renal Graft INjuries in kidney allograft recipients) research project, coordinated by INSERM, has just received financing from the "health" seventh framework programme of the European Commission to the tune of 6 million euros for a four-year period.
A research team led by the La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology and Albany Medical College has illuminated the important role of natural killer (NK) T cells in Lyme disease, demonstrating that the once little understood white blood cells are central to clearing the bacterial infection and reducing the intensity and duration of arthritis associated with Lyme disease.
Sinapis Pharma, Inc. announces that its first patients were dosed in a Phase I clinical trial study on June 14, 2010. This study, in human volunteers, is designed to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics, and absolute bioavailability of an intravenous infusion of methamphetamine. The first cohort, investigating shorter infusion times, went well. Future cohorts will evaluate longer infusion times and higher drug doses.
