Boston Scientific Corporation has announced that results of the largest implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) study to date, known as INTRINSIC RV, were published in the January issue of the journal Circulation.

Being held by a parent with skin-to-skin contact reduces how strongly a newborn baby's brain responds to a painful medical jab, finds a new study led by researchers at UCL and York University, Canada.
In this Lancet editorial, Giuseppe Raviola, Anne Becker and Paul Farmer, professors with the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School, write, "Unprecedented opportunities to promote excellence and equity in health care delivery for the world's most underserved populations are upon us," but "delivery of mental health services in low-resource settings lags unacceptably and unjustly far behind that of other services."
Black adults are more likely than other groups to develop Alzheimer's disease or related disorders but are poorly represented in Alzheimer's disease research, including recent clinical trials. This health disparity illustrates how Black individuals can benefit from advances in the field if they had access.
