A unique study conducted in a multi-ethnic, underserved community in New York City shows if young adults are properly taught about heart healthy behaviors and strictly adhere to specific interventions, they may see significant benefits to their cardiovascular health when compared to those who do not have any health education intervention, according to Mount Sinai researchers.
The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) are pleased to announce the publication of the consensus guideline on margins for breast-conserving surgery with whole-breast irradiation in stages I and II invasive breast cancer.
The Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center hosts a symposium exploring the future of cancer research on Feb. 17th at Georgetown University Medical Center. Sponsored by the Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers, the two-part symposium, "Fighting a Smarter War Against Cancer: Personalized Medicine & the Cure for Cancer," will offer a focus on personalized medicine by bringing together experts in academia, industry and advocacy.
Two researchers from the University of Santiago de Compostela have studied the relationship between teenagers' goals and antisocial behaviour. The results show that the principal goal of young people is to finish their studies and leave home. The most antisocial among them place greater importance on popularity with others.
