Northwest Biotherapeutics, a U.S. biotechnology company developing DCVax personalized immune therapies for solid tumor cancers, confirmed today that its Phase III trial of DCVax-L for newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is ongoing and the patients enrolled in the trial are continuing to be treated per the protocol.
The University of Illinois is set to receive a grant from the Friends of Mel Foundation (FOM) in support of their Bone Marrow Transplant Program. The program was selected as the recipient of the Mel's Magic award for January 2011. Mel's Magic was created by FOM in May 2009 to familiarize their supporters with other organizations that work tirelessly to make a difference in the cancer community.
A new study demonstrates that a comprehensive and multidisciplinary clinic for low-income and homeless individuals with respiratory disease can decrease no-show rates and provide quality care that is highly satisfying to the individuals treated.
Mayo Clinic researchers found that dopamine agonists used in treating Parkinson's disease result in impulse control disorders in as many as 22 percent of patients.
