Phenomenex Inc., a global leader in the research and manufacture of advanced technologies for the separation sciences, announces the addition of over 1,700 new chiral HPLC/SFC applications to its online resource, including more than 400 new SFC (supercritical fluid chromatography) methods. Phenomenex's extensive chiral application database is unique in the industry, particularly with the addition of the SFC methods, which were developed in collaboration with the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium.
A small clinical trial of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) who did not respond to interferon alone found that adding the human antibody daclizumab improved patient outcome. Patients who received the combined therapy had a 78 percent reduction in new brain lesions and a 70 percent reduction in total lesions, along with other significant clinical improvements.
Researchers from the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson have identified a protein relationship that may be an ideal treatment target for ER+ breast cancer. The study was reported in the July 15 issue of Cancer Research.
A new study led by the University of Leicester has demonstrated that consuming alcohol did not affect how men judged the age of women.
