The results of a new study reveal the link between increased levels of anxiety and an elevated rate of progression to Alzheimer's disease.
"The FDA's review today of BiDil could make it the first drug approved specifically for African Americans and marks the end of 'one-size-fits-all' medicine," said Dr. Jane L. Delgado, President and CEO of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health (the Alliance), the nation's leading Hispanic health advocacy group.
Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions, Inc., the leading provider of clinical software, information and connectivity solutions for physicians, today announced that certain wholly-owned subsidiaries of Misys plc, Allscripts' majority stockholder, have completed their previously announced underwritten public offering of 27,000,000 shares of Allscripts common stock at a public offering price of $17.05 per share.
Confronted with a high blood pressure value in a diabetic patient, most doctors would treat aggressively with medications. According to new research, however, delaying drug treatment for up to a year is unlikely to be harmful. The delay allows doctors and their patients to focus on lifestyle changes such as salt restriction, weight management, and exercise.
