On October 1, Vitamin Angels, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization distributing vitamins and minerals to children and mothers in need, launches a month-long social media campaign focused on educating the public about hidden hunger, a chronic lack of vitamins and minerals affecting approximately 1 in 3 people globally.

Seniors in the U.S. are overwhelmingly satisfied with their current Medicare coverage, according to a survey released today by Silverlink Communications and Suffolk University in Boston. Of the more than 2,600 Medicare beneficiaries surveyed, more than 94% indicate that they are satisfied with their coverage, with just 6% expressing dissatisfaction.
Many cancers produce an enzyme called IDO that suppresses immune system activity, but the long-held hypothesis of how this mechanism operates requires revision, according to a study published in Clinical Cancer Research.
The Southeast Michigan Health Information Exchange announced today that it has won a $2,988,000 contract for an electronic medical records initiative from the Social Security Administration. This award comes to SEMHIE in partnership with its fiduciary, Southeastern Michigan Health Association and its project partners CNSI, The Object Management Group™, Computer Sciences Corporation and Oracle/Sun Microsystems.
