Two University of Colorado Cancer Center studies show that the protein receptor Mer is overexpressed in many leukemias, and that inhibition of this Mer receptor results in the death of leukemia cells - without affecting surrounding, healthy cells.
Sunshine Biopharma, Inc. a development stage pharmaceutical company focused on the research, development and commercialization of drugs for the treatment of various forms of cancer, today announced that it has executed an agreement with The Research Foundation of the State University of New York (SUNY), acting for and on behalf of Binghamton University (Binghamton, NY).
They found that poultry litter – a ubiquitous part of large broiler operations – harbors a vastly larger number of microbial agents that collect and express resistance genes than was previously known.
Retinal findings in children with severe forms of malaria (with brain involvement and severe anemia) appear related to disease outcomes such as prolonged coma and death, according to an article in the August issue of the Archives of Ophthalmology, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
Debiopharm Group, a Swiss-based global biopharmaceutical company, today announced that the US Food and Drug Administration granted Fast Track designation to its anti-infectious agent Debio 1450, a highly potent antibiotic specifically active against all Staphylococcus species.
