A Mediterranean diet which is rich in vegetal fats does not mean it comes with weight gain if compared to a low-fat diet, according to a study published in the medical journal The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology.
Sara Algoe of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill who has investigated how gratitude benefits close relationships, including how expressing gratitude leads to long-term social outcomes for women with metastatic breast cancer and the evolutionary role for gratitude. She will be presenting some of this work at the SPSP annual meeting in New Orleans (Jan. 17-19, 2013), and she is a recipient of grant funding through the Expanding the Science and Practice of Gratitude project.
Emerald BioStructures today announced a three-year extension of its ongoing collaboration with UCB. The strategic aspects of this renewed relationship will provide Emerald with research funding over the three-year period and the opportunity to receive milestones and royalties on future drug product revenues.
Scientists are suggesting that people with religious beliefs are likely to be happier than atheists or agnostics.
