Scientists at Aston University have discovered a technique similar to medieval stained glass-making that can completely eradicate the deadliest hospital infections within hours.
Lab-grown tissues could one day provide new treatments for injuries and damage to the joints, including articular cartilage, tendons and ligaments.
MAP Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that its New Drug Application (NDA) for LEVADEX® orally inhaled migraine drug for the potential acute treatment of migraine in adults has been accepted for filing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), with a goal date of March 26, 2012 under the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA).
New research presented this week at ACR Convergence, the American College of Rheumatology's annual meeting, shows that use of platelet inhibitors could be associated with a reduction in the occurrence of digital ulcers, painful sores on the extremities that can progress to gangrene, in people with systemic sclerosis.
The use of dolls that mimic real babies may encourage rather than deter teenage girls from getting pregnant according to the results of a controlled randomized trial.
