ZONARE Medical Systems, Inc., a developer of high-end ultrasound solutions, today announced a new software release for its z.one ultrasound platform here at the 96th Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Nov. 28 – Dec. 3, 2010. Designed to continually improve image quality and system performance, the 11th software release in six years also includes new advanced software applications and transducers which further expands the clinical utility of the z.one system in radiology, obstetric and vascular imaging.
Although generic oncology drugs can reduce patient costs and improve treatment access, the safety of these drugs in developing countries is uncertain, according to an international research team led by Dr. Charles Bennett, Josie M. Fletcher professor and chairman of the S.C. SmartState Center in Medication Safety and Efficacy at the College of Pharmacy at the University of South Carolina.
Acclarent on Saturday unveiled their new treatment option for chronic sinusitis, the Balloon Sinuplasty procedure. Results from the initial safety and feasibility study of this unique, catheter-based treatment for chronic sinusitis were presented by William Bolger, MD, FACS.
While not a new problem, the spread of misinformation throughout the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has exploded on almost every social media platform. Recently, a group of researchers analyzed conversations on public Facebook groups to explored automated misinformation on mask-wearing. The team published their findings as a research letter in the JAMA Internal Medicine journal.
In an Al Jazeera opinion piece, the first in a two-part series, Khadija Sharife, a journalist and visiting scholar at the Center for Civil Society, examines how multinational drug companies control markets.
