Researchers at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston by growing vaginal skin cells outside the body and studying the way they interact with "good and bad" bacteria, think they may be able to better identify the good bacteria that protect women from HIV infection and other sexually transmitted infections.
Severe trauma to the head and spine resulting from all-terrain vehicle accidents are increasing dramatically according to research released today from the University of Utah Department of Neurosurgery. The research, to be published in the journal Neurosurgery, highlights the need for efforts to improve ATV stability, increase helmet use, and greater efforts to train riders in safe operation of the vehicles.
Ontario's doctors wish to congratulate the inaugural class of Physician Assistants (PAs) at McMaster University who are celebrating at their convocation today. We commend the Ontario government for investing in the PA program as an effective way to improve patient access to timely and comprehensive health care.
New York University College of Nursing received a two-year, $452,218.00 grant from the national Institutes of Health to research "Proinflammatory Biomarkers and Post-Breast Cancer Lymphedema."
