BioAlliance Pharma SA, a company dedicated to the treatment and supportive care of cancer and AIDS patients, announces today an exclusive partnership agreement with Therabel Group for the European commercialization rights of Loramyc® and Setofilm® including France and the associated French commercial structure to a newly established entity, Therabel Hôpital Pharma.
A team from the Metastasis Research Laboratory (GIGA-Cancer/Liège University Hospital) has just published, in the prestigious journal BLOOD, their work demonstrating that the DMP1 protein has previously unsuspected anti-angiogenic activities which could be used for the development of new treatments against cancer, but also against diseases in which angiogenesis plays a major role, such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis or diabetic retinopathy.
Almost three quarters of Britain's young men and women are boosting their risk of potentially fatal skin cancer in their search for a suntan. A specially commissioned survey for Cancer Research UK today reveals that 70 per cent of 16 to 24 year olds still want a tan on holiday despite warnings of over exposure to the sun.
Scientists at the University of Michigan Medical School have identified biochemical signals that attract pathogenic cells to damaged lung tissue - one of the first steps in a chain of events leading to a lethal disease called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis or IPF.
