St. Jude Children's Research Hospital scientists show that the molecule serves as a bridge between the two arms of the immune system that provides a new mechanism guiding T cell differentiation.
Some people may excel at riding a bike, tying a tie, or playing the piano, but those same people may find it difficult to explain or teach those skills to someone else. These motor skills are learned in one part of the brain, whereas classroom instruction and information read in a book are acquired in another area of the brain, explained F. Gregory Ashby, professor and chair of UC Santa Barbara's Department of Psychology. This second area of learning is the frontal cortex the area immediately behind the forehead - where executive function is located.
By shedding new light on how cells migrate in the developing brain, researchers at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center also may have found a new mechanism by which other types of cells, including cancer cells, travel within the body.
BIOTRONIK, a leading European manufacturer of therapy solutions for vascular intervention, announced the completion of enrollment in the BIOLUX P-I - a clinical study investigating the use of a drug-eluting balloon (DEB) catheter, a promising new approach to treating disease in the more challenging peripheral vascular anatomy.
