An international study led by biologists and neuroscientists from the University of Pennsylvania has identified a new genetic risk factor for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.
Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. today announced record second-quarter results with revenue of $682.9 million, a 15 percent increase over the prior-year period. Revenue for the quarter was negatively impacted 3 percent by foreign currency fluctuations. Quarterly earnings per share increased 30 percent to $1.22 from $0.94 in the prior year.

The results have been published in the current issue of "The American Journal of Psychiatry."
A paper published in this month's Irish Medical Journal highlights an estimated three-quarters of a million extra GP visits per year with the introduction of free GP care for children under six. The study examined 1931 children at six practices selected to be comparable to Ireland's national population and evaluated the current landscape in service demand and expected impact of the new programme due to be rolled out in June of this year.
