Scientists in the UK and Sweden previously developed a new surgical technique to reconnect sensory neurons to the spinal cord after traumatic spinal injuries.
Johns Hopkins biochemists have figured out what is needed to activate and sustain the virus-fighting activity of an enzyme found in CD4+ T cells, the human immune cells infected by HIV. The discovery could launch a more effective strategy for preventing the spread of HIV in the body with drugs targeting this enzyme, they say.
ERYTECH Pharma SA announced today that it has received clearance of its Investigational New Drug Application from the United States Food and Drug Administration to initiate a Phase I clinical trial of its product ERYASP, L-asparaginase loaded erythrocytes, in patients 40 years or older with newly diagnosed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Oasis Diagnostics Corporation is the recipient of a research award from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research to validate OASIS' development of a non-invasive, saliva-based, rapid test for Parkinson's disease detection and diagnosis.
