Genetic Immunity, a multi-national biopharmaceutical company developing nanomedicine vaccines today announces publication of the Company's innovative work to develop a stable liquid formulation to deliver a novel nanomedicine. Appearing in the International Journal of Pharmaceutics, the paper addresses how Genetic Immunity was able to overcome significant hurdles facing the field to successfully formulate the first topically administered nanomedicine therapeutic vaccine for the treatment of HIV/AIDS, DermaVir.
A study published in the current issue of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatic has identified a biomarker for depression in diabetes. Findings of epidemiological studies have shown an overall 2-fold increased prevalence of depression in patients with type 2 diabetes compared with the general population worldwide.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 1.5 to 2 million Americans are infected with the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Prior studies have shown there to be significant racial differences in access to and outcomes of liver transplantation. Recently, doctors from across the U.S. conducted a multicenter retrospective-prospective study of the waitlist status and outcomes of liver transplant patients with HBV infection.
A Finnish population-based study showed that binge drinking was associated with increased atherosclerotic progression in an 11-year follow-up of middle-aged men. The progression of atherosclerosis was increased among men who consumed 6 drinks or more on one occasion.
