Researchers at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and the Baylor College of Medicine will join with Guatemalan investigators in a major study examining the clinical outcomes of children infected with the Zika virus after being born, focusing on long-term brain development.
Stem cell research holds promise for improving the quality of human life ― especially embryonic stem cells, which can potentially develop into any tissue in the human body. However, basic scientific problems still remain unresolved - but Tel Aviv University researchers are leading the way to inventive solutions.
Crux Biomedical® was named one of "50 Companies to Watch" in an annual survey of medical device and diagnostic companies. The survey, conducted by Medical Device and Diagnostics Industry (MD+DI), was published in its June 2010 issue. The purpose of the survey was to identify firms that have either achieved success or have the potential to revolutionize medical practice with their respective products.
UT Southwestern Medical Center researchers, in conjunction with NASA, will take four volunteer cancer patients on a zero-gravity ride into the upper atmosphere to study why zero-gravity conditions on the International Space Station sometimes affect the vision of astronauts staying there for extended periods.
