Exciting new data presented today at the International Liver Congress 2012 shows the gut microbiota's causal role in the development of diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), independent of obesity.
AAPC, the leader in enabling the business side of medicine, announced the results from the 2012 AAPC Health Care Salary Survey. The survey is open to all members of the health care community, including medical billers and coders, practice managers, auditors, and physicians. This year nearly 20,000 health care professionals responded to the survey.
The world's pioneering researchers in robotic surgery are invited to showcase their innovative work by taking part in the Surgical Robot Challenge 2016. The Surgical Robot Challenge is open for entry from today, and the competition finals will be held from 20 – 27 June 2016 at the Hamlyn Symposium on Medical Robotics in London, as part of the first ever UK Robotics Week.
"Myanmar appealed on Tuesday to the international community to increase assistance in combating HIV/ AIDS, as AIDS response in the country has entered a critical stage," Xinhua reports, adding, "The appeal was made by participants attending" a round-table discussion on reaching zero AIDS-related stigma and discrimination in the country.
