Dutch researcher Joost Wiersinga from AMC Medical Centre in Amsterdam has unravelled a genetic defence mechanism against the lethal bacteria Burkholderia pseudomallei. The research is the next step towards a vaccine against this bacterium suitable for bioweapons.
Cancer researchers have long suggested that new targeted drugs may work best when paired with other therapies. In a new study published today in Cancer Research, scientists have taken some of the first steps to demonstrate this synergy in mouse and cell line models.
Specialists at Malvern Panalytical have demonstrated the application of dynamic particle image analysis to the measurement of sub-visible particulates in biological therapeutics, using the Sysmex FPIA-3000 particle characterization system.
