A new report from the Kaiser Family Foundation, titled "Innovative Financing Mechanisms for Global Health: Overview and Considerations for U.S. Government Participation," "examines some of the most prominent new financing mechanisms for global health across a broad range of categories, with particular attention to the current level of U.S. government involvement," according to a KFF press release.
VitaPath Genetics, the Spina Bifida Association and the National Council on Folic Acid today announced the launch of the free iPhone application—the VitaTrack Folate Tracker— which allows women to track their daily intake of folate and folic acid. Maintaining an adequate level of folic acid prior to and during pregnancy can reduce the risk of serious birth defects like Spina Bifida by up to 70%. Studies show that folic acid may also help prevent congenital heart disease, pre-term labor, and cleft lip and palate.
The 5th Annual Jean Sindab Triple Negative Breast Cancer Symposium, sponsored by the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University, provides an intimate learning environment in which the most current advances in triple-negative breast cancers (TNBC) will be explored.
