As a practicing internist, I need all the help I can get in diagnosing the many diseases that threaten the life and well-being of my patients. So perhaps you'll understand why I'm angered by the reckless new recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (a panel of primary care experts) that I don't use the prostate-specific antigen to screen men older than 40 for prostate cancer.
The World Health Organization greenlighted emergency use of AstraZeneca and Oxford's covid-19 vaccine this month, following in the steps of the United Kingdom, the European Union and others, who are already injecting it as quickly as possible into the masses.
As healthcare moves from a volume to a value proposition, building better, more efficient patient care is increasingly important. Radiologists will learn skills to help navigate this transition, become better leaders, and thrive under new delivery and payment systems, at the American College of Radiology's Radiology Leadership Institute RLI Annual Event, to be held July 25-28, 2013, at the Kellogg School of Management on Northwestern University's Evanston, IL, campus.
According to the National Center for Health Statistics report, the overdose deaths among the persons with drug abusers in 2016 is on an upward rise that has not stopped. These rising numbers are disheartening because the intensified efforts to curb these numbers are thus seemingly not working.
