Extremely high blood pressure that leads to strokes, heart attacks and acute kidney damage, classified as hypertensive emergency, is five times higher in inner-city African-American patients than the national average, according to a recent study co-lead by a Rutgers researcher.

The Norwegian company Cryogenetics Ltd. has made a significant breakthrough by inventing a method for cryo-preservation of fish embryos down to -130° C (-202° F).
Preliminary experience suggests that lipofilling—using fat from elsewhere in the patient's body for contouring of the breasts—is a safe procedure for women who have undergone breast cancer surgery, reports a study in the August issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
