Perrigo today announced that its licensor and supplier Synthon has received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Levocetirizine tablets, a generic version of Xyzal® tablets from UCB/Sepracor, which is marketed in the U.S. by Sanofi-Aventis. Perrigo has the exclusive rights from Synthon to sell and distribute the product in the U.S.
A recent study published in the February 2015 issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry demonstrates that children who were abandoned to institutional care have an increased risk for behaviors similar to those seen in children with autism, including impaired social communication.
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine report a novel strategy for stimulating the production of utrophin – an important muscle protein in young mice – for muscular dystrophy therapy.
