Scientists in Spain have found that adding a can of tuna or other fish to our shopping lists could help protect us against bladder cancer.
Copenhagen has been struggling with air pollution for many years now. Pollution from lorries, vans, busses and cars each year costs lives.
Scientists at Johns Hopkins Medicine and the University of Oxford say they have found a new way to kill some multiplying human breast cancer cells by selectively attacking the core of their cell division machinery.
Thea Friedman, M.D., associate scientist and director of oncology basic research at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center was recently awarded a National Cancer Institutes of Health-National Cancer Institute RO1 research grant to improve allogeneic blood and marrow transplantation for multiple myeloma patients.
Results from a late breaking clinical trial called COGENT demonstrate that the combination of giving patients clopidogrel, a blood thinner commonly prescribed to patients with cardiovascular disease, and stomach medicines such as omeprazole, known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), did not lead to adverse events, as some prior studies had suggested.
