Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer globally and the second most common cause of cancer deaths. The chance of a cure is high if the cancer is detected early enough, but early detection is not a given. Researchers from VIB and KU Leuven - together with various European oncology centers, including UZ Leuven - have identified bio-markers that can be incorporated in a new diagnostic test.
"On Monday, April 15, USAID Administrator [Rajiv Shah] participated in a Twitter chat to answer ... questions on the proposed food aid reform in President Obama's 2014 proposed budget," Phillip Pollman, an intern with USAID, writes in the agency's "IMPACTblog."
Nabi Biopharmaceuticals announced today that the European Patent Office upheld the Company's opposition to European Patent No. 1,329,226 (Hapten Carrier Conjugates for Use in Drug Abuse Therapy) requesting revocation of this patent. The EPO revoked this patent in its entirety.
Oligomerix, Inc., a privately held company pioneering the development of disease modifying therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, announced today the completion of approximately $2 million in Series A financing, which includes both issuance of new convertible preferred shares and debt conversion.
